Deepika Padukone Summoned by NCB
Amidst the investigation in the Sushant Singh Rajput death by suicide case; Deepika Padukone and others have been summoned by NCB over an FIR
In recent news, Deepika Padukone along with husband, Ranveer Singh, and a few other members of her legal team such and Karishma Prakash were seen getting off a charter flight to Mumbai from Goa. With Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide still being investigated for alleged murder charges, NCB uncovered the names of a few celebrities in a recent drug nexus case.
NCB had uncovered Deepika Padukone’s WhatsApp chats where a person named “D” was engaging in drug exchange and use from a person named “K.” in the chat, she was allegedly seen asking for hash
Sources further mentioned that “Deepika Padukone has acknowledged the summons and has submitted to joining the investigation on Saturday.” The investigation is supposed to take place on the 26th and includes many other celebrities such as Sarah Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet, etc.
NCB has further stated that they will be questioning the celebrities based on the statements and chats they have uncovered, based on those then they will decide a final course of action. An official said that NCB has six months to file a charge sheet in the case and they will carefully assess and take their time to decide who to charge in this drug case and what sections to be applied. While in an FIR all names are not specified, when filling the charge sheet the people at NCB will have to specify the names of the celebrities accused.
Moreover, as Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh arrived together, Ranveer further requested to NCB that they allow him to accompany his wife during the probe since it is a hard time for her. He further stated in his application that his wife suffers from anxiety is often a victim of severe panic attacks, so he wishes to be by her during such tough times.
