Did Jungkook from BTS copy Shamoon Ismail’s Music?
Considering that Karachi was released in December 2018 and Still With You was released in June 2020, did Jungkook from BTS copy Shamoon Ismail?!
Recently, a friend of mine recommended me a song from a member of BTS to listen to, called Still With You. When I initially listened to it, it sounded nice but very similar, even though I couldn’t place my finger on the similarity. However, later it hit me: Shamoon Ismail’s Karachi has an extremely similar tune! Considering that Karachi was released in December 2018 and Still With You was released in June 2020, did Jungkook from BTS copy Shamoon Ismail?!
Still With You by Jungkook (BTS)
Still With You is considered Jungkook’s first solo single. According to Genius, it was released as a part of the Festa, which is the BTS’ anniversary. The song is about being nostalgic about being with someone and “believing in being together”. In the SoundCloud link, it says thankyouarmy2020, meaning that Still With You is dedicated to the BTS Army (the name given to their fans).
Shamoon Ismail’s Karachi
Shamoon Ismail’s Karachi is from his 2018 EP called Cookie. According to The News, the song is about his relationship with the City of Lights aka Karachi. Since then, Shamoon has been on the rise and has a huge fan following! However, he hit a controversy in late March – early April, when Twitter declared him a racist for his comment on COVID-19 and eating bats! To retaliate against the backlash, he released a song called Rok Le. Shamoon’s latest collaboration with Asim Azhar also made waves on Twitter.
Do you hear the similarities too? Did Jungkook from BTS copy Shamoon Ismail or is it a coincidence? Let us know in the comments what you think!
