In Conversation With Walid Siddiqui | Billboard Pakistan

We got the chance to interview the not so new model who entered the modelling industry and took everyone by storm. His coloured eyes have made many girls go gaga yet he's one of the most humble and down-to-earth people we have met from this industry. We featured him in our latest issue and you can read the interview below.

Q1. If you were to get money every time a person pronounced or wrote your name incorrectly,
how rich would you be?
Ans. I wouldn’t need to work a day in my life.

Q2. That was just a fun question considering you’ve mentioned it in your Instagram bio, let’s talk
about your background a bit and the inception of your career in modeling?
Ans. Technically speaking, I started modeling around 2012-2013. I started modeling in Pakistan in December 2017 at Hum TV’s Bridal Couture Week after being discovered by their team.

Q3. How has the fashion industry treated you so far as you’ve been working for a while now?
Ans. For the most part, they’ve been supportive. Just a few bad apples. That’s about it.

Q4. What are your thoughts about our fashion industry and where do you see it going in the next
few years?
Ans. We need to work. Collectively. I want to see Pakistani models working all around the world. In that aspect, we’re a little behind.

Q5. I saw that you’re participating in the ‘Virtual Fashion Show’ arranged by the maestro Frieha Altaf, who owns Catwalk Events and you’re playing your part in beating coronavirus. What do you have to say about it so far?
Ans. It’s historic. It feels good to be a part of history. This is all for the frontline. So I’m proud to be a part of it.

Q6. Considering that you had to be in front of the camera most days, talking about the pre-pandemic days, how tiring was it or did you like it?
Ans. It wasn’t tiring. Maybe a little stressful at times. But not tiring. I loved it.

Q7. Tell us a bit about your daily routine such as your diet and how do you stay fit during this period?
Ans. Oh gosh. I haven’t been dieting at all. I sleep around 7 – 8 am and I wake up around 5 – 6 pm. It’s terrible.

Q8. Should we expect to see you in any projects in the near future?
Ans. I sure hope so!

Q9. Who or what inspires you? It could be anyone or anything too that motivates you to be your best self.
Ans. Failure. I cannot allow myself to fail. Ironically, that’s what motivates me to do my best.

Q10. You’ve worked with many designers and photographers, who is your favorite to work with?
Ans. They’re all pretty special to me. I have a bond with most of my colleagues so it’s difficult to decide lol.

Q11. What’s one advice that you’ll give to your readers who want to join this field?
Ans. Do your homework. Become a model because YOU want to and because it’s YOUR passion. Don’t become one to look cool for your girlfriend, lol.
