Recently, Donkey King was released in English on Amazon Prime to users in UK and USA. The animated movie has been theatrically released internationally previously in countries such as Turkey, Colombia, Ecuador, South Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Spain and Peru – it got dubbed in Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Korean, Spanish, Basque and Catalan.
When Aziz Jindani was asked about the release, he stated, “The Donkey King’s continued global acceptance underscores that when content is built on universal truths and insights, it can transcend geographies and language.”
Furthermore, he added, “The film has been dubbed in more than 10 languages now and when I watched English version, it was so good, I forgot that the original language was Urdu.”
Donkey King is considered the most successful animated movie of Pakistan. It is an animated comedy film that was released in Pakistan in October 2018 and has been produced by Geo Films and Talisman Studios. It features the voices of Jan Rambo, Ismail Tara, Hina Dilpazeer, Ghulam Mohiuddin and Jawed Sheikh, and grossed Rs 24.75 crores after running in the cinemas for 25 weeks.
When the COVID-19 pandemic started, the Donkey King team released a song called Darna Nahi, Larna Hai featuring Shuja Haider and Asrar.
