Yes yes yes, you read it right and we are equally sad about it. This is actually going to happen! This Ramzan is going to be the last for the most scenic food street of Karachi. The rumors are true as Do Darya is going to be closed after this Ramzan.
This used to be one place where almost every Karachite must have visited at least once. Even when people from other cities arrive, the first suggestion they get is to visit Do Darya. Karachites are sad, freaking out and don’t want to let this place go at any cost.
the decision seems to be final and according to reports, the reasoning behind this decision seems to vary.
“WHILE THERE ARE SOME THAT REPORT THAT A NEW SPORTS COMPLEX AND ENTERTAINMENT CENTER IS BEING PLANNED; OTHER REPORTS CITE THAT THE LAND HAS BEEN TAKEN BY A FOREIGN INVESTMENT GROUP TO CONSTRUCT UNDERWATER RESTAURANTS AND HIGH RISE BUILDINGS”.
The most important thing to note here is that hundreds of employees are going to be left jobless until and unless they find some other jobs and a very healthy business is going to come to an end. This place was famous for one particular reason being that people used to enjoy their food with a view of the sea. But let’s not lose hope and expect something better from this place.
