Engro Foundation Signs MoC with Gates Foundation

Engro Foundation has joined hands by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation of 3 years with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to promote the underprivileged sectors and communities of Pakistan. Under this agreement, both foundations will also strive to help and provide for the relief funds such as the one initiated by the government to help families and other people whose household income is affected by the global pandemic.

The pandemic has led to lockdown in multiple countries around the globe, including Pakistan. Many daily wage workers and others as well as tackling it to the best of their abilities. However, it should be noted that many are still deprived of basic necessities and are relying on such not-for-profit organizations to help them out.

Both organizations will also evaluate other areas of mutual interest, such as nutrition, agriculture development, financial inclusion, women empowerment, and the health of mothers and children. This will allow both organizations to have a shared learning experience in many areas and will be highly beneficial.

According to Hussain Dawood, Chairman of Engro Corporation:

This allows Bill & Melina Gates Foundation to expand its horizon within the spectrum of supporting the ones in distress. The organization has already been a part of Ehsaas since 2019 and committed to doing more social work within Pakistan. Other programs of interest and priority include polio eradication, financial inclusion, routine immunization, typhoid control, and maternal, neonatal and child health, with the eradication of polio being on the top of the list for the government of Pakistan as well.

This Memorandum of Cooperation by Engro Foundation with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has opened new doors of welfare for the state as we can hope to see many new initiatives being supported by both foundations in the future.
