Famous Naat Khwan Mehboob Hamdani Dies
On Wednesday, 21st October, Pakistan faced yet another loss. Famous Naat Khwan Mehboob Hamdani takes his last breaths at Ittefaq Hospital.
As the year progresses we’ve come around to see death after death, the country seems to be losing most, if not all, important personalities. Previously, with the death of veteran actor, Mirza Shahi, the killing of the religious scholar, and yet another saddening demise has been announced: veteran Naat Khwan Mehboob Hamdani loses his battle to cancer and passes away.
21st October marks the day that famous Naat Khwan- Mehboob Hamdani passed away at Ittefaq Hospital. Reports tell us that he was suffering from cancer for the past few months and had also suffered from brain haemorrhage before passing away on Wednesday.
Mr. Mehboob Hamdani’s brother, Maghroob Hamdani stated that he and his brother had begun their careers in the 1960s through Pakistan Television. “Our father was also a naat khwaan and always encourage us to take this up. It was his encouragement that my elder brother and I devoured ourselves to naat recitation.”
Moreover, Mehboob Hamdani was awarded the Pride of Performance award in 2000, he recited naats not only in Pakistan but also in Middle East and several other private TV channels. Maghroob also mention that his brother ran a travel agency which tried to facilitate pilgrims in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Upon hearing about the news, Chief Minister, Usman Buzdar expressed grief over Mr. Mehboob Hamdani’s demise terming it a great loss to the country.
His funeral was held on Wednesday at Jamia Mosque, Ayubia Market in Muslim Town which was attended by several religious personalities.
Mehboob Hamdani’s qul is said to be held today, Thursday, between Zuhr and Maghreb prayers at Ayubia Market, Muslim Town.
The nation is deeply saddened by the demise of such a brilliant personality; Mr. Mehboob Hamdani was 72 years old and has left behind two daughters and two sons. Truly gone too soon.
