FIA Summons Shoaib Akhtar on Cyberstalking Charges

Shoaib Akhtar, famously known as Rawalpindi Express, has been summoned by the FIA on the cyberstalking charges levelled against him by PCB's legal advisor Taffazul Rizvi.

Shoaib Akhtar, famously known as Rawalpindi Express, has been summoned by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on the cyberstalking charges levelled against him by Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) legal advisor Taffazul Rizvi.

According to an official, after verifying the complaint, Akhtar has been called upon by the FIA on Friday to record his statement on the matter of cyberstalking.

Taffazul Rizvi had earlier sent a defamation notice of Rs 100 million to the former pacer for using “inappropriate and derogatory” language against him in the video clip.

The video clip was uploaded on Shoaib Akhtar’s channel, and shows him pointing out PCB’s legal team’s flaws. The pacer is seen criticising the cricket board, saying that they did not curtail match-fixing by allowing players to come back to cricket set up after serving their punishments.

Akhtar further pointed fingers at Rizvi in the video, stating that Taffazul had always been interested in taking high profile cricketers of the country to court to earn a name for himself.

It was after this, that Taffazul Rizvi initiated defamation and criminal proceedings against Shoaib Akhtar.
