Friday the 13th, the universal unlucky day

It’s Friday the 13th! This day is universally seen as unlucky day or a day of misery. This western superstition gives the idea to people that ‘spooky occurrences’ and ‘accidents’ happens because of the day and date. This year’s Friday the 13th coincides with a full-moon making things a little spookier.

Friday the 13th is mostly associated with scary stories, horror movies, fear, and on the fact that number ’13’ is regarded historically as unlucky. Matter of fact, there are two real phobias; first the fear of number thirteen and second the fear of Friday the 13th.

So, here we have round up a list of movies and tv-show for you to binge watch this weekend.

1. Friday The 13th (1980):

This almost 40 year old classic movie still stays as one of the best slasher movies to watch on such occasion. Starring Betsy Palmer , Adrienne King, and other fresh faces of the 80’s; story-line revolves around the camp counselors attempting to reopen a camp where once a child had drown,but now a masked attacker is stalking and murdering people at camp.

 

 

2- Hush (2016):

This American slasher starring Katie Siegel living in utter seclusion after loosing her hearing in teenage years. The young woman is faced with a horrifying masked stalker with no possible way to call for help she’s at killer’s mercy. The night ends with her pushing her mental and physical abilities in order to survive and out-live the masked assailant.

 

This movies gives all the feels of Friday the 13th eve. Friendly reminder! Do not to look out of the window during night!

3- A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010):

Death stalks teenagers in this slasher/ thriller starring Kyle Gallner and Rooney Mara in their dreams. A disfigured man (Jackie Earle Haley) stalks and murders children as revenge on killing of Freddy Kruger. A man in tattered sweater and gloves made of knifes terrorizing teenagers in their dreams. When one of the teenager dies they realizes that the dream world is real and only way to survive is to stay awake. This slasher gives all the spooky feelings of Friday the 13th and might keep you up at night as well.

 

4-The Haunting of Hill House (2018):

It is the best horror series to binge watch on Friday the 13th giving more of a human experience to supernatural. This horror web tv-series consist a list of 10 episodes. It is moderately directed and is based on a novel of the same name by Shirely Jackson. Flashing between the past and present the story-line revolves around children who grew up in a house, what would becomes the most haunted house of the country. As they grow up, the haunting memories and terrifying events still lurks and drove them form it.
