Friends Actor James Michael Tyler Passed Away At 59
The actor who was known for playing the role of Gunther in the hit sitcom series Friends has sadly passed away at the age of 59.
At the age of 59, James Michael Tyler passes away at his home in Los Angeles on Sunday. He is best known for his role as Gunther in the sitcom “Friends”.
The cause of death had been attributed to advanced prostate cancer, which the actor had been battling since 2018.
His role as Gunther, the quirky barista at Central Perk, made him a fan favorite and one of the show’s most adored characters.
The actor’s demise sent fans of the show into complete shock. Even many of the actor’s co stars had come out with messages online offering their condolences.
One of them were Jenifer Aniston, who played the role of Rachel Green on the smash hit show. She took to Instagram to speak about the late actor, thanking him for being a part of the show.
Her fellow co-stars also took to to social media to offer their condolences and tributes for the late actor. These included Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc who appeared in another show alongside the actor called “Episodes”.
Tributes also poured in from the Indian film industry as Kareena Kapoor took to Instagram to highlight her sadness over Tyler’s death.
James Michael Tyler had also featured in other shows prior to his role on “Friends”. These included “Just Shoot Me!” and “Sabrina The Teenage Witch”. During his stint on the show, he appeared in a total of 150 episodes.
The actor went on to do appearances in other shows such as “Scrubs”. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Carno.
