Last night’s Baftas saw the world war one inspired film 1917 dominate. The film won a total of seven awards which included a best director award for Sam Mendes. It also won awards for Best Film and Best British Film. Sam Mendes has made history with his win in the best director category as he was the first British director to win the award after Danny Boyle.
