The 6th edition of the Hum Style Awards unfolded last Saturday, where the crème de la crème of the entertainment industry congregated to celebrate the dazzling world of fashion and style. On a night filled with glitz, glamour, and a flurry of flashbulbs, the red carpet rolled out to reveal a spectrum of style statements, from the sublime to the less-than-stellar. As celebrities strutted their stuff, it became clear that while some had nailed their looks, others veered off the fashion mark. Sona Rafiq 

Sona Rafiq truly justified her title as the Most Stylish Content Creator, in a black body-fitted gown by Solace London, she captivated onlookers. The gown’s stunning silhouette and fit were dramatically topped with a lilac cape featuring puffy sleeves, creating a visually striking look. Complemented by a sleek bun and minimal jewellery, Sona’s ensemble was nothing short of perfection. She was, without a doubt, the best dressed of the evening for us. 

Humayun Alamgir

The fashion designer showed that breaking the mould can lead to smashing success. Humayun decided to skip the traditional tux and instead opted for a black textured suit with vibrant red borders. The look was made even more dynamic by a quirky tie that added a dash of fun. His choice demonstrated that men’s fashion is anything but boring.

Sadaf Kanwal 

Sadaf Kanwal proved that sometimes, simplicity is the key to sophistication. She chose a grey ensemble from her own brand, a piece seen before yet refreshed by its flawless execution and her elegant presentation. The silhouette was flawless, and her poise on the red carpet was a lesson in how to carry Eastern attire with panache.

Shahroz Sabzwari

The actor brought casual cool to the red carpet with his black Ismail Farid suit paired smartly with a white tee. The ensemble was effortlessly stylish, and though the sunglasses at night were a bold choice, they somehow completed his intended look.

Erica Robin 

Erica Robin was a vision in not one, but two outfits — each a testament to her versatile style. Her first, a graceful white sari by Sania Maskatiya, exuded elegance, while her second, a combination of a striking black top adorned with a large rose embellishment and a sequined pencil skirt, showcased her ability to blend classic and contemporary fashion elements seamlessly.

Ghana Ali Umair looked absolutely ethereal in an all-white ensemble from Threads & Motifs. The elegant skirt and silk drape were styled impeccably with white pearls and beautifully voluminous curly hair, creating a look that was both refined and enchanting.

Misses of the Night

Aamna Ilyas

Aamna Ilyas’ fashion faux pas was painfully evident in a jarringly sequined golden top that clashed horribly with everything from the colour palette to the outfit’s overall vibe. The creation by Fahad Hussyn left many questioning what went wrong in what seemed a clear mismatch between designer and muse.

Amar Khan

Amar Khan appeared to have lost her way to a wedding and ended up on the red carpet instead. Her dress was excessively ornate, with loud makeup and oversized earrings that did little to flatter her otherwise commendable fashion sense.

Kiran Malik

Kiran Malik’s attempt at a golden, glamorous look fell flat with a dress that seemed all too familiar and uninspired. The ensemble by Suffuse by Sana Yasir lacked originality and was further let down by unsuitable makeup and hair styling, making it a forgettable appearance.

Asim Azhar

The superstar’s persistent preference for green unfortunately did not pay off this time. His outfit, while decently fitted, was overwhelmed by a colour that simply did not complement him, proving that even stylish performers can have off days.

Hania Aamir

Hania Aamir — who’s usually on point with her style —  missed the mark with poorly-tailored pants and a texture that detracted rather than added to her look. Designed by Nomi Ansari, the outfit was a mishmash of ill-fitting pieces and unflattering textures. The only redeeming feature was the colour, chosen to signify solidarity with Palestine.

Hazim Bangwar

Hazim Bangwar aimed for a Met Gala-esque impact but ended up with a look that was more confusing than cutting-edge. His outfit’s ambition was clear, but the execution left it looking tacky rather than trendy.

As the curtains closed on another year of the Hum Style Awards, the night reminded us that fashion is as much about hits and misses as it is about personal expression.
