Imran Khan To Meet Donald Trump

Visit to Washington

It has been confirmed by the foreign office that Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet US president Donald Trump on 22nd July’19. According to the reporters, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the Prime Minister was invited in June by Trump but he could not accept the invitation because of the budget session. It is said by the foreign office that the talks would focus on important regional matters and review bilateral relations.

It was proposed by Pakistan to also hold talks with India on July 14 to  finalize the agreement on Kartarpur Corridor. New Delhi earlier suggested July 11-14 for talks on Wagha border side of Pakistan. Officials shall on a draft agreement present a way to enable the movement of Sikh pilgrims and resolve outstanding technical issues related to the corridor’s alignment and infrastructure.

This will be the first visit by Prime Minister Imran to the US since his party won the elections in July last year.
