Indonesia’s Uncertainty of COVID-19 Like Disease

For a country that is fourth-largest in terms of its population, it is now infected with the coronavirus. It is not shocking that they are not able to control the virus from spreading. And moreover, it is getting harder and harder for their country to check on people and test them for COVID-19. For now, there are 19,897 cases in Indonesia that are pending. These cases haven’t been tested as the older ones have not come back yet. There are many people who have died during this procedure only of testing and the results coming back. A senior taskforce member told Reuters “If they have thousands or hundreds of samples they need to test, which one will they give the priority? They will give the priority to the people that are still alive,”

As for now, Indonesia is dealing with another issue, they are not sure if the person is infected with COVID-19 or not. These patients have symptoms quite like those of coronavirus, however, they are not sure. Moreover, such patients are being called as PDP, as to differentiate between the two. The Doctors are checking patient history to more further clarify the difference. It includes the travel history & medical history of the patient.

The government and the people of Indonesia need to keep a strict check on themselves. If things get out of hands in Indonesia, it might be hard for them to gain control. The vast population and not so rich government might not be able to take things in hand properly.
