Jazz to Fund COVID-19 Tests at Shaukat Khanum
Jazz has donated 8 million rupees to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre to fund 1000 COVID-19 tests.
Pakistan is facing the issue of the limited availability of tests during the COVID-19 pandemic, along with doing so free of cost. Seeing this as a great problem that needs resolving, Jazz has donated 8 million rupees to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre to fund 1000 COVID-19 tests. Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre is specified for COVID-19 testing and has so far conducted over 500 free of cost tests.
This donation is a part of the COVID-19 relief support – worth 1.2 billion rupees – that Jazz recently announced. The support includes short to mid-term initiatives aimed to curb the negative effects of the pandemic, mainly for the most vulnerable communities.

Dr. Faisal Sultan, CEO of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust stated, “I understand that the policymakers are trying their best to ensure adequate supply of testing equipment nationwide, but we had to reach out to the private sector for urgent support. My greatest gratitude to Jazz for answering our call and supporting this humanitarian cause at a crucial stage. We will now revamp our testing efforts to clamp down on the virus spreading beyond control.”
