Joy Behar in hot waters due to her opinion on the Ukraine conflict
The American talk show host lands herself in hot waters
Joy Behar, who is one of the hosts of the American talk show “The View”, has landed herself in hot waters.
Her comments on how the Ukraine conflict could effect her vacation to Italy received widespread condemnation online. Many labeled her comments on to be “insensitive” and “tone deaf”.
Behar made the comments after her co-host Sunny Hostin had done talking about the dire situation in Ukraine.
She described how an estimate 50,000 Ukrainians could die in the conflict spurring a massive refugee crisis.
It was in response to this that Behar said the following, “I’m scared of what’s going to happen in western Europe, too. You plan a trip, you want to go there, I’ve wanted to go to Italy for four years and I haven’t been able to make it because of the pandemic and now this. It’s like, what’s gonna happen there?”

A lot of the criticism comes from the American right wing political pundits who have often been critical of mainstream media. Many of them believe that the mainstream media is heavily biased towards the left of the political spectrum.

Joy Behar has been the host of “The View” since 1997. She left the show in 2013 before returning back in 2015.
“The View” has constantly been in headlines for some of the controversial remarks made by its hosts. These include the recent remarks by Whoopi Goldberg.
Goldberg made the controversial remark that the Holocaust was not about race, upsetting many in America. The remark drew criticism from both sides of the political spectrum with many labeling her comment as “genocide denial”.
She was later suspended by ABC for her remarks but was later reinstated following the completion of her suspension.
