Since you belong to a well-educated family and you are one of the examples of a successful individual yourself who has diversified and worked in various positions, I’ll start this interview with one basic question- and that is how Important do you think is Education in our society?

My great-grandfather Pir Illahi Buksh started services towards the cause of education after the independence/partition. He was elected as Chief Minister Sindh and then Educational Minister for ten years. Education is extremely essential and plays a pivotal role in today’s world, where no nation can develop without basic education and literacy rate. It is one of those tools which strengthens one’s individual capacity of surviving in a challenging world and if you don’t have it you are definitely deprived.

Also, do you think education has been modernized in any way from the times of your forefathers till today?

Yes, it has modernized to some extent but not up to the level it should have been. The strive for education has been increased for sure but lots need to be done.

Is unemployment a serious problem in the current era or is it the lack of proper education that leads to unemployment?

Unemployment IS the problem. It has a lot do with lack of skill development according to industry requirements in some ways too. For instance, if you are in a specialized field such as Technology, Computer Science, Finance etc, and your requirement is as per the demand of the industry then you would have better job opportunities and options.

Do you think the world needs Multi-taskers?
If the requirements are changing with the passage of time then it is one’s responsibility and/or necessity to upgrade yourself accordingly.

Does our Education system need to change in any way?
First of all basic education needs to be modified drastically, especially in the public sector, everyone should have the right of free education till secondary level at least. Also, teacher’s training is extremely important which determines the quality of education. Teachers should know what exactly they are teaching, what role model those students can be for others and the impact it would have on our society.

Who is your Role Model?
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in politics. Mr S.M. Munir when it comes to business.
