Kamran on Bike Is A True Inspiration For Everyone
Kamran on bike is a cyclist photographer who has been on a round-the-world trip, covering 50,000 km through 43 countries in four continents.
If you are ever hesitant to follow your dreams, the ones that keep you awake at night, that you find yourself daydreaming about, the dreams that leave a void in your heart, waiting to be fulfilled. Remember to take that leap! As T. S. Eliot once said, “Nothing is as important as passion. No matter what you want to do with your life, be passionate.” It seems as though someone took his advice to follow his dreams and passion. Kamran on bike has truly become an inspiration for everyone.
A computer programmer by profession, Kamran on bike is born and raised in Pakistan. He holds a Ph.D. Degree in computer science from Germany. On his Instagram page, he talks about his journey, of how on his way from Pakistan to Germany, somewhere above Turkey is where he first envisaged a dream, to move around these rugged terrains, discovering the culture, language, and music of the place below him. Given his love for cycling, he made a secret vow to himself, “one day, I am going to cycle from Germany to Pakistan.”
That is exactly what he did, thirteen years later, leaving behind everything, his job, and all of his possessions to embark on his journey to pursue his passion. He cycled from Germany, entering Pakistan from China via the Khunjerab Pass. According to him, “I paused a couple of times to check if I was still dreaming, even though It was my first time on this road, I had a feeling I had been here before. The only difference was that this time around, I was carrying my body on a bicycle”.
There was no stopping him after that, not when he had so many roads to conquer and beautiful landscapes to memorize. In 2019, he completed a 33,100 km bicycle trip from Argentina to Alaska, taking him three years and nine months. He describes how someone always came through with help whenever he found himself in a vulnerable position, one door opened after the other as if he was destined to be here, to complete his journey. Over the years, he has covered about 50,000 km through 43 countries in four continents, and claims that ” although I lost the sense of strong attachment to the home, I gained a sense of attachment with the rest of the world as my new home”.
When questioned about his reason to cycle all around the world, he claimed that ” if you are true to yourself, you have no choice but find a way to fulfill your destiny. The key is to discover your passion that drives your purpose, for a life without a passion is dull, and a life without a purpose, meaningless”. He is an inspiration for all the people who have yet to succumb to their dreams and passions. For people who are meaning to pursue a different pathway, be it traveling around the world, living in the mountains, or even switching to a different career, take that leap. Learn it from this guy, do not forgo the dream that gives your life meaning.
Kamran on the go has also started this great initiative called, “Support the Mountain people”, a fundraising campaign, a link to which is attached to his Instagram. He has interviewed many porters all around the northern areas of Pakistan, bringing attention to their stories and taking the first step in helping the porter community, something that the government has still not been able to do.
