Karak Hindu Temple to be Rebuilt According to Govt

Following the tragic events of the attack on the Hindu Temple in Karak, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced the rebuilding of the temple.

Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan, made an announcement on Friday, 1st Jan, that his government will rebuild the Karak Hindu temple that was burned down by an angry in the area of Teri of the Karak district last Wednesday.

On Wednesday, basically, a mob consisting of people of all ages marched up to the Hindu saint Shri Paramhans Ji Maharaj’s samadhi and badly damaged it and set it on fire. This did not sit well with human rights activists and religious minorities. This is why Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister announced that the government is going to rebuild the Karak Hindu Temple.

Moreover, to discuss the rebuilding of the Karak Hindu temple, the Chief Minister sat down with Dr. Shoaib Suddle of the one-man commission on minority rights, PTI minority MNA, Dr. Ramesh Kumar, and provincial chief secretary Dr. Kazim Niaz. Mr. Mahmood Khan further went onto say that such an act was highly condemnable and ensured that his government will make sure to take the appropriate steps to bring them to justice!

Mr. Mahmood said his government would ensure the protection of all holy places of minorities in the province and that no one would be allowed to take the law into their hands. With the blessings of Dr. Shoaib and MNA Dr. Ramesh Kumar, the KP government is set to rebuild the Karak Hindu temple.

Special assistant to the chief minister on minority affairs, Wazirzada, and aide of the chief minister on auqaf and religious affairs, Zahoor Shakir, stated that the rebuilding of the Karak Hindu temple will be done from the government’s own funds. However, officials have stated that the attack was not preplanned and that the mob had mobilized in the Teri area to attack.

The government made sure that after the attack on the Hindu temple, 3 of the accused and 43 suspects were arrested immediately within 24 hours. They said that India should take inspiration from the KP government deciding to rebuild the Karak Hindu temple. “In India, mosques are burnt and members of Sikh and Muslim minorities are killed but the government doesn’t feel any shame,” Wazirzada said.
