Kristen Stewart’s New Picture as Princess Diana takes Internet by Storm

Kristen Stewart is all set to star in the new movie “Spencer”, a biopic on the late Diana, the Princess of Wales. A second image of the actress was released as filming continues on Spencer. On Thursday, the upcoming biopic released an image showing the actress Kristen Stewart, in a plaid red and green blazer, white turtle neck, and wearing the exact replica of Diana’s sapphire engagement ring. Her resemblance to the late princess is uncanny. The outfit is the same outfit the princess was spotted wearing on a visit to Portsmouth, the UK in 1989.

Spencer is set in December 1991, and centers over the course of the decisive weekend of the princess’  life, as she faces the end of her marriage to Prince Charles while spending Christmas at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate in the 1990s. Diana, who was married to Charles from 1981 to 1996, died in 1997 at age 36 after a car accident in Paris, France. According to a synopsis released by the film’s production company Neon,

“December 1991: The Prince and Princess of Wales’ marriage have long since grown cold. Though rumors of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at Sandringham Estate. There are eating and drinking, shooting, and hunting. Diana knows the game. This year, things will be a whole lot different,”.

Kristen Stewart, known for starring in the Twilight series describes the movie as “a dive inside an emotional imagining of who Diana was at a pivotal turning point in her life”. She also added,  “I’m just sort of reading everything that I can and then forgetting it because it’s kind of a really internalized story.”

The filming of Spencer initially took place in Germany but has now moved to the UK. The movie is set to release in the Autumn of 2021. We cannot wait to witness Kristen Stewart playing the iconic role of Princess Diana.
