Lexus to venture into the Yacht business
Lexus switching up their game, from automobiles to luxury yachts
Lexus as we know is one of the luxury brand divisions under Toyota’s automotive manufacturing umbrella. Very recently it unveiled its luxury yacht dubbed the LY 650 and here’s what we know about it.
The LY 650 luxury cruiser measures 65.ft in length, and boasts an open interior with advanced technology. There are 3 cabins, each with its private bathroom and the yacht can accommodate up to 15 people at a time.
Made in collaboration with Nuvolari Lenard – an Italitan yacht design studio, and construction undertaken by Marquis Yachts – based in Wisconsin, this beauty took up to 2 years to be completed. And it is said to have used carbon-fiber composite materials that are stronger and lighter.
Along with its sleek interior and white color schemes, this yacht comes with Volvo Penta IPS twin engines. So for those who speak the language of automobiles, you would understand when I say each engine can produce up to 1350 hp.
Akio Toyoda, President of Toyota Motors has said:
“The LY 650 symbolizes the challenge taken by Lexus, which aspires to be a true luxury lifestyle brand, to venture beyond the automobile”
This luxury yacht is said to go on sale starting October 30th, retailing at around $3 million.
