Long Distance Friendship

There is no distance too far between friends, for friendship gives wings to the heart

“Years from now, our past will be a story; a story of long days, lonely night, hard work and lack of sleep. We’ll live each day having intimately known the pain of being apart, we’ll appreciate and embrace our time together.  Knowing how lucky we are to have made it through and we’ll find solace in the promise of a future again”

Here are some tips which will help you improve your long distance friendship!

Set A Schedule

Setting a schedule in a long distance friendship is the first basic try anyone would give in order to stay connected. One should set a timetable accordingly and talk to one another on a call when free. Other than that, there are a lot of social media apps that give you an opportunity to make free calls or video calls so you should make the best out of it.

Mini Surprises

Everyone likes surprises and gifts, whether they admit this truth or not. Surprise your friend with a care package in the form of a gift. You can send them stuff that they really like. It is not necessary for the gift to be an expensive one as long as they are not a materialistic person. You can give surprises even by writing an unexpected long message and expressing how you feel about their existence in your life.

Link to one another

Best friends can talk about anything at anytime and any day. They should stay linked to one another. They should share snaps and keep bothering one another. Read the same book or watch the same movie so that you can have a meaningful discussion about it later on a call.

Sending Reminders

Reminding your friend about your existence in their life plays a huge role. One should share old memories, throwbacks and pictures so that the bond doesn’t get weaker. You should motivate your friend if you feel that they’re feeling low. Rather than holding grudges against your friend, talk to them if you feel like they have changed.

Plan trips at least once a year

Explore new places together. There is a possibility that you might not have the money or time to fly all the way to see them, but what about meeting half way? Preferably somewhere you both haven’t been to, In this way you can have a reunion or better to say, a mini-adventure! This would help you create new memories that you can cherish later.

And remind them every time before you go, that although they’re far away but they will always be your number one.
