Mahira Khan’s New Release to be a Biopic

Mahira Khan recently revealed that after her next production Baarwan Khiladi, she will release a biopic, featuring in the movie herself. She has set up her production company known as Soulfry films with her friend Nina Kashif, also a producer. The news about the biopic was further confirmed when Kashaf revealed that Mahira is acting in our next production. Mahira Khan responded to this by adding, “It’s a biopic but that’s all we can tell you right now”. But no further details about the project are available currently.

While the idea of a biopic has us stirred, Mahira Khan’s upcoming Barwaan Khiladi is also awaited by the viewers, with special feature cameos by Fawad Khan and Shoaib Malik, this new feature film has caused a surge of excitement amongst the viewers.

“I’m so grateful to the two of them for doing this for us,” said  Khan, the actor-turned-producer expressed. Moreover, Baarwan Khiladi features upcoming actors including Shahveer Jafry, Danyal Zafar, Kinza Hashmi, and Khaqan Shahnawaz. The plot is based on a cricket story, revolving around the themes of love, failure, unity, relationships, success, and courage. It has been written by Shahid Dogar and directed by Adnan Sarwar, the man behind Motorcycle Girl. Saba Faisal, Mira Sethi, and Sarmad Khoosat are also part of the cast.

When talking about the cast of the web series, Kashif pointed out that they wanted to feature new actors in the series, working with raw talent rather than cashing out on well-known actors. Also, “we wanted to select boys of a certain age because the story is about a young cricket team. We also opted for new actors because they are yet to have any characters associated with them from previous projects,” added the producer.

The web series has been shot in Old Lahore, the historic center of the city. Initially, to be released after PSL, it is now scheduled to release after Eid-ul-Fitr.
