Maryam Nawaz Booked for Damaging Minar-i-Pakistan

PDM leaders including Maryam Nawaz were booked for causing damage to the Minar-i-Pakistan by forcing an entry and violating SOPs.

The Pakistan Democratic Movement leaders including Maryam Nawaz booked for causing damage to Minar-i-Pakistan over the Lahore jalsa. An FIR was registered against the leaders, including Maryam Nawaz, at the Larri Adda Police Station stating that the PDM leaders damaged the heritage site by breaking the locks of the Greater Iqbal Park at Minar-i-Pakistan and forcing an entry to hold the rally.

Maryam Nawaz and other leaders were booked for causing damage to Minar-i-Pakistan when the security guards lodged complaints against them.
PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz and PML-N leaders Khawaja Saad Rafique, Ahsan Iqbal, and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have been nominated in the case. Several other Opposition leaders, including Rana Sanaullah and Marriyum Aurangzeb, have also been named in the FIR.

In the FIR, it stated that Maryam Nawaz and other leaders were booked for violating SOPs at the rally, and the Sound System Act. It says that the PDM leaders broke the gate and fences of the Greater Iqbal Park at Minar-i-Pakistan to enter the jalsa.

PMLN’s Malik Waseem Khokhar barged into the park with 125, according to the FIR. Moreover, the PDM leadership was also blamed for breaking the tiles of the park floor to install lights.

There have been several cases against the PDM workers by the Lahore Police. All cases were registered at the Larri Adda Police Station. Leaders included Maryam Nawaz were booked for damaging the Minar-i-Pakistan.

Even though the administration had not granted permission for the procession of the rally at the park. The PDM leaders ignored these restrictions, and violated SOPs, and forced an entry. Which led to the leaders including Maryam Nawaz getting booked for damaging the Minar-i-Pakistan.
