NAB Arrested Shahbaz Sharif After Rejection of Bail

As Lahore High Court rejects the interim bail petition by PMLN President, NAB arrested Shahbaz Sharif from the premises of LHC.

On Monday, 28th September, Lahore High Court rejected PMLN President- Shahbaz Sharif, bail for the money laundering case, on account of which National Accountability Bureau arrested Shahbaz Sharif.
Shahbaz Sharif had filed a bail petition himself, and as he was rejected for bail by the Lahore High Court in the asset beyond means and money-laundering case, NAB arrested Shahbaz Sharif from the court premises.

It broke out discourse amongst the public supporters, who had been waiting for their leader bail, and the security present at the Lahore High Court. Furthermore, Maryam Nawaz, PMLN Vice President, took to twitter and stated that NAB arrested Shahbaz Sharif only because he refused to play against his brother, Nawaz Sharif.

“This revengeful accountability cannot discourage Nawaz Sharif and his allies. The time is not far when this government and those who brought it into power are held accountable by the nation,” she further said.

Furthermore, Nawaz Sharif also took to Twitter to express his resentment as NAB arrested Shahbaz Sharif. He tweeted saying, “this puppet government has endorsed the resolution adopted by the opposition’s, Shahbaz Sharif had already said all of the APC’s (All Party Conference) decisions would be implemented whether he is in prison or outside. No one should be mistaken that such disgraceful tactics will make us bow down.”

PMLN overall is highly disappointed with NAB arresting Shahbaz Sharif, their party president, Nawaz Sharif termed his brother’s arrest as unjust and unacceptable. Nawaz as well as daughter, Maryam Nawaz, has taken the public and announced that they are in opposition to the arrest and believe that their party is being discriminated against by the current Prime Minister, Imran Khan.

Maryam Nawaz further held a press conference on Monday, 28th September, saying that these tactics will not shake PMLN. Even though NAB arrested Shahbaz Sharif, they are prepared to react and will be open to planning several decisive long marches or collective party resignations. She says that these threats do not bother her, and she is not afraid of being arrested for her attempts to bring Shahbaz Sharif to justice.
