Nawaz Sharif, former vice president of Pakistan is sentenced to jail for 10 years,by Judge Muhammad Bashir.In accordance with Avenfield properties.Furthermore he is also fined with £8 million.
Maryam Nawaz,his daughter is sentenced to 7 years in prison alongside being fined with £2 million.Her husband and Nawaz Sharifs Son-in-law Captain Safdar(Retd) is also sentenced to one year in prison.
After the ruling was passed,Maryam Nawaz and Safdar are no longer allowed to contest in the upcoming elctions.The cities they were standing for were Lahore and Mansehra.All ballot papers in the NA-127 constituency containing the name of Maryam Nawaz will be removed.
