Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Wife, Aaliya, Files for Divorce

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a brilliant Indian actor who has worked in many hit movies, is in hot waters. His wife Aaliya reveals that she has sent him a legal notice demanding a divorce. However, she did not discuss the contents of the legal notice claiming that the issues were serious and quite sensitive. Aaliya and Nawaz had been married for 10 years now and the lockdown has given her enough time to ponder over her relationship.

In a few interviews with media houses such as Bombay Times and Zee News, Aaliya shares many insights about her relationship but still not disclosing the reasons and issues behind the divorce. Nawazuddin and Aaliya got married in 2008 and started having issues a year after their marriage, but no steps were taken.

His wife said that:

“I have gone back to my original name, Anjana Kishor Pandey. I don’t want to be reminded that I am using someone’s identity for my benefit,”

The legal notice demanding a divorce was sent to Nawazuddin Siddiqui via WhatsApp on May 7, 2020, as it couldn’t be sent through post considering the lockdown. However, he hasn’t responded to it yet. He’s aware of it and has made no statement either.

Aaliya also mentioned in an interview:

“We sent the legal notice to Nawazuddin on May 7, 2020, via email and WhatsApp, as we couldn’t send it through post due to the lockdown. Our client, Mrs. Siddiqui, has also sent him the notice, but he hasn’t responded to date. The notice claims maintenance and divorce. I would not like to get into the contents of the notice, as the allegations are serious and sensitive to the Siddiqui family.”

Aaliya is a budding film producer who wants to go with the flow. During the lockdown, she has managed to think over her relationship with Nawazuddin and take any steps she felt necessary. She also mentioned that she hopes to get custody of her two children. She said, “I have raised them and I want their custody.”

Meanwhile, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is in his hometown in Budhana in Muzaffarnagar district. He is quarantined along with his family, which he mentioned in his tweet.
