NUST Ranks as The Top 100 Universities in Asia
Pakistan's National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) ranks at #76 in the Top 100 Universities in Asia in the QS Rankings 2021.
Keeping constant with growth, the National University of Science and Technology ranks as the 76th amongst the top 100 universities in Asia in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings 2021. NUST managed to jump up to seven positions from #83 last year.
This new ranking for NUST as the top 100 universities in Asia has placed it amongst the Top 12% top Asian universities for 2021. With this glorious upgrade, NUST has managed to maintain a strikingly upward record in Asia by moving up 36 positions in the last 5 years and it has also managed to retain as the #1 university in Pakistan for the 4th consecutive year.
This is the second time in a row that NUST has been recognized as the top 100 universities in Asia. Around 634 universities were considered for the QS 2021 Asian rankings, 41 of which are Pakistani universities.
The factors that are considered when selecting the top 100 universities in Asia are Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Faculty/Student Ratio, Citation per Paper, Paper(s) per Faculty, International Research Network, International Faculty, International Students, Inbound Exchange Students, and Outbound Exchange Students.
Apart from being one of the Top 100 Universities in Asia, the Employer Reputation indicator is the strongest for NUST in the latest rankings, placing the university at #42 in the region. NUST also stands among the top 100 universities as per the Academic Reputation indicator. As for its current ranking in other categories of QS, NUST is proudly positioned at #355 in the world and #41 amongst young world universities under the age of 50.
Moreover, many other universities apart from NUST were mentioned in the top 100 universities in Asia as well- Quaid-e-Azam University came in at 106 in Asia, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) at 121, COMSATS University Islamabad at 146, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore at 175, Pakistan Institutes of Engineering and Applied Sciences at 176, and the University of Punjab at 178.
