Online Music Platform Boiler Room Announces First Ever Transmission From Pakistan
On 20th June, Boiler Room will be broadcasting for the first time from Pakistan and the site will be airing local performers from Pakistan.
Boiler Room is coming to Pakistan to showcase the local talent! The Pakistani vocalist, Natasha Noorani, shared a poster of the artist lineup on Instagram. The blue and pink banner had indications of truck art that read “dekh magar pyar se [take a gander, but with love],” a popular saying often observed on public transportation vehicles in Pakistan, adding a Pakistani touch.
Noorani expressed her gratitude for the music sector’s great achievement moment and for the opportunity to do so with her colleagues in the profession. Jaubi, Ustad Noor Bakhsh, Natasha Noorani, Ozzie, Malik, Lyla, Natasha Ejaz, Kukido B2B TMPST, and Tollcrane are among the performers.
The first-ever Pakistani broadcast, according to Boiler Room’s Instagram account, is “a night to commemorate the country’s young emerging dance music industry and its local history of a live show.” The British Council is supporting and executing the event, which the British Council half funds. Dialled In is an art festival that honours South Asians via music.
According to Resident Artists, the event will be a webcast of local bands and DJs from throughout the nation, a portal that covers electronic music, artists, and events. It will take place on Monday, June 20 in District 19 in Karachi. According to the website, the event will begin at 7 p.m. local time. District 19 has been contacted for verification.
At 3 p.m. BST, on the Broiler Room website, the festival will be live-streamed for UK viewers and listeners.
Apart from Karachi, Boiler Room will stream live from Paris on July 8 and 9 for two days with local artists. They are also expected to broadcast in New York City, Vienna, Los Angeles, Tbilisi, Warsaw, Stuttgart, London, and Boston.
