As places of worship open up across the world, Pakistan prepares to reopen the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for all Sikh pilgrims, conveying to the Indian side our readiness to reopen the corridor on 29 June 2020, the occasion of the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh.

The Kartarpur Corrdior had been closed by Pakistan on March 16 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and even now, Pakistan is trying to communicate with India so that proper SOPs can be set up for the reopening.
Details about the Kartarpur Corridor Initiative in Pakistan
The Kartarpur Corridor was opened in November 2019 by Pakistan PM Imran Khan. The opening of the Corridor was on the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak. The first Guru of Sikhism, Baba Guru Nanak Saheb, had spent the last 18 years of his life in Kartarpur.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office considers Kartarpur Corridor a symbol of peace and religious harmony. This Corridor fulfilled the dreams of many international members of the Sikh Community, and is appreciated by them highly.
