Pakistani Male Celebrities Are Painting Their Nails: Polished Man Campaign
Pakistani male celebrities have been joining forces and raising awareness for the Polished Man campaign to educate the people about child abuse in Pakistan.
In recent news, ever since yesterday, photos of Pakistani male celebrities have emerged with their fingernails painted as a part of the Polished Man campaign. It raised speculation amongst the people as to why these celebrities were painting their nails and posting about it.
Shaniera Akram, the wife of Wasim Akram and rights activist, took to her social media to introduce the Polished Man Campaign which displays the softer side of men in the country to raise awareness about child abuse. Through this campaign, Shaneira has shared the photos of many famous Pakistani male celebrities and wrote, “Some of the toughest men Pakistan has ever produced are showing their softer side & coloring one nail to represent the millions of children who suffer every day at the hand of an adult. Our Pakistani heroes say ‘We WILL NOT tolerate child abuse in our country’.”

The Polished Man campaign has been around for quite some time now, however, the need for it is at an all-time high in 2020 due to the rapid rise in child abuse cases in Pakistan. Pakistani male celebrities and sports stars have joined this international campaign to show their support for children suffering in silence from child abuse in Pakistan.
Moreover, Shaniera Akram goes onto encourage other men to also join the Polished Man campaign to raise awareness of the abundant cases of child abuse in Pakistan. “Talking about Child Abuse is better than not talking about Child Abuse! We need to infiltrate people’s homes in Pakistan with the necessary conversations around this topic. And if a man coloring his nail can spark a wave of awareness, then so be it! Man up, Colour your nail today.”
