Diana Baig joins Category B, along with Aliya Riaz and Sidra Nawaz. The latter two both retained their positions, while Baig moved up because of her bowling performance in the previous year. “She [Diana] topped the T20I bowling charts for Pakistan in the last 12 months,” remarked Urooj Mumtaz.

In Category C, newcomers Anam Amin and Omaima Sohail were welcomed due to their performance. Anam is the highest wicket-taker in the domestic and joint-highest in international circuit.

Let’s not forget the emerging category! Nine players are a part of the emerging category, including Syeda Aroob Shah, Ayesha Naseem, Muneeba Ali Siddiqui, Fatima Sana, Kainat Hafeez, Najiha Alvi, Rameen Shamim, Saba Nazir and Sadia Iqbal.

Ayesha Naseem made her debut  in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup this year at the age of 15. Sadia Iqbal won the Player of the Match award on her T20I debut against Bangladesh in October.

I would like to congratulate the cricketers on receiving their PCB central contracts, and look forward to their striking performance once the matches restart after the pandemic!
