CAA's increase in airport charges likely to increase prices of tickets
Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority is being said to increase airport charges and embarkation fee starting November 1st this year. This is raising speculation that plane ticket prices will likely increase as well.
Every national airport previously had its own charges, but these uniform rates will apply to all.
Pakistani passengers travelling internationally will have to pay Rs.2,800 as airport charges, while foreign passengers will have to pay $20. This is most likely due to the fluctuating exchange rates.
Embarkation fee has been increased to Rs.2,000 for economy class passengers, and Rs.3,000 for business class passengers.
Regardless of pre-bookings these charges will be implemented November 1st on-wards.
Aeronautical charges for international flights have also been increased at the same time, by 10%; on the other hand landing charges will increase by 25% during peak hours.
Therefore it should be expected that plane tickets will now become expensive soon.
