PM Imran Khan Wishes to Develop Gems and Mineral Sectors
PM Imran Khan stated that by developing the gem and mineral sectors, employability of the youth will increase in Pakistan, along with the exports.
PM Imran Khan stated on June 24 that by developing the gem and mineral sectors, employability of the youth will increase in Pakistan, along with the exports.
In a meeting that he was presiding over, PM Imran Khan demanded a report on the issues that are faced by the gem and minerals sectors in detail, so that a plan developed to promote and gain from them. He believes that even though nature has blessed us with many resources like gems and minerals, we have not been able to properly pay attention to these sectors in the past.
Several points were brought up in the meeting, including the reserves of precious gems (emerald, ruby, amethyst and sapphire), conducting research, encouraging foreign investment and ensuring coordination between the federal and provincial governments.
PM Imran Khan also proposed that a gemstone city should be established in Islamabad to attract foreign investments in Pakistan.
The government announced on June 24 that their plan to get out of the locust crisis is through their conversion into organic fertilisers. The Ministry of National Food Security and Research (NFS&R) has given its approval to incentivise the community at the grassroot levels so that they can control the locust crisis better.
