Sar-e-Rah is Gaining A lot of Attention in Pakistani Social Media

Internet users claim that they haven't recently seen a Pakistani play this amazing. It discusses several serious topics, like intersex people.

With just four episodes since its debut last month, the drama Sar-e-Rah has managed to win over the hearts of the viewers. A touching scene between a father and his intersex kid on a beach was shown in the most recent episode, and their chat touched viewers’ hearts. Describing it as a “breath of fresh air”, they complimented the drama for tackling this serious subject with such sensitivity and creating a discussion on the tolerance of intersex persons and their decisions.

The lives of women and intersex individuals, two vulnerable and marginalized groups, are explored in the drama Sar-e-Rah. It is created by Ahmed Bhatti and features a cast that includes Nabeel Zafar, Saboor Ali, Saba Qamar, Muneeb Ali, and Sunita Marshal. At the moment in issue, Zafar portrays the father who, after speaking with his son, has a dialogue with God in his brain and begs to be there for him at every turn to shield him from this harsh world and provide for him in whatever way he can.

Rarely do Pakistani television screens depict such love and support for intersex people, particularly from on-screen parents. People on social media appreciate the heartbreaking moment.

Not only that but people appreciate the message and the performances of the actors especially Nabeel Zafar in episode 4 during a particular scene where he supports and explains to his third-gender child how they may feel and how they are free to choose to be whatever they want to be.

The sort of father figure that each child requires.

Netizens believe that designer Maria B, who had an issue with this particular scene, is inciting unwarranted animosity and undermining the advancements being made in this situation.

Millions of people praised the “progressive” move towards acceptance online, but Maria B chose to criticise the scenario for emphasising it’s purportedly “USAID supported” elements to further the cause of accepting the LGBTQ+ storyline in Pakistani youth.
