Sneakers just got a whole lot pointer?

Designers are thinking really out of the box this season. Jonathan Anderson’s Pointy-Toe sneakers made a debut in the fashion world last month when Loewe’s Spring 2018 collection hit the runway, adding one more to the list of ugly-chic shoe trends. Some of the models were seen showing off their pointed-toe sneakers as they walked on the ramp at the Spring 2018 Loewe Show during Paris Fashion Week. Since then, these weird shoes are blowing up the internet. Looks like, Christopher Kane finally has some competition.

The Sneaker Khussas, as we like to call them, are elevated, rendered in reptile skin, available in different colors – green, sand, mahogany. The most distinctive feature about these shoes is the tip which has a distinctive upward curve. Loewe’s footwear is inspired by “traveling woman with her craft souvenirs” and seemingly reference extremely curved upwards Mexican pointy boots, worn by men in North-Central Mexico.

Loewe’s trendy footwear couldn’t help but remind people of elves and Aladdin.

Is it time to ditch our lazy round toe sneakers for something ‘pointy’?
