If your #mentalillness makes you feel guilty, review the definition of “illness” and treat yourself with the same respect and concern you would show to a heart patient. . It’s time to destigmatize ‘ MENTAL ILLNESS’ in any form. #timetotalk #timetochange #mentalhealthawareness . #sonyahussyn #humtv #samikhan #nazishjahangir #ghanaali
She had listed autism in the poster too, and when one user pointed out that autism is not a mental health related illness, but rather a disability, Sonya Hussyn stated that autism is a symptom of schizophrenia.
Since the reply came forth, Sonya Hussyn has been bashed by Twitter. The users of the microblogging social media platform state that the actress could have at least glanced at Google to educate herself before posting such a wild statement.

Not that I expect our celebs to be bastions of knowledge but about time they read up on what they're representing through art rather than try to use a cause to their benefit. Actors in Hollywood take months to understand and get into character. https://t.co/Nw1jbJPh4t

Sonya, however, mentioned in an interview that she had trained for the role for 2 months by visiting rehab centers with the director and the producers to meet with patients who are suffering from schizophrenia. “For about two months, the makers kept in touch with me about my training which gave me the confidence that I can pull this off,” she had said.
She shared that the drama serial is “entire documentation from diagnosis, to treatment and to potential recovery. It is basically the story of a seemingly ‘normal’ girl in a normal setting, who has symptoms of schizophrenia that people around her are unable to recognise.”
