Students Trend #CallOffUniversitiesExams on Twitter
While many students may be using humor to bring up the topic, the message behind Twitter's #CallOffUniversitiesExam is quite serious.
Recently, the Education Minister announced that educational institutes will remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, stating that board exams were cancelled. Shafqat Mahmood since then clarified that the exams for the universities will be scheduled according to their own policies as well as directives from HEC. This did not calm the university students, who since then started the trend #CallOffUniversitiesExams on Twitter.
Two important decisions taken by PM Imran Khan in the NCC today. One, All educational institutions will remain closed till July 15. Two, ALL Board exams throughout the country have been cancelled. Students would be assessed on their previous performance in Board exams.

While many students may be using humor to bring up the topic, the message behind Twitter’s #CallOffUniversitiesExam is quite serious. Many students are not able to study via online classes, and are not getting the same level of education as they did before this lock down.
So why are only university students facing the anxiety and stress caused by examinations, when they cannot even attain the same quality of education as before? University students also deserve the same policy that others received regarding their education.
