Tanushree’s Charges Against Patekar Sounds Tragic

Voicing your opinion about the courage and grit of Tanushree Dutta doesn't mean you are saying that Nana is guilty.

Nana Patekar, an established superstar who has won awards on a national level has been alleged for sexual harassment by Tanushree Dutta, a Bollywood actress from Jamshedpur. Nana Patekar is well-known for his charity across the country and beyond and not only that, he commands respect in the political circles of Maharashtra considerably.

Nana Patekar is swirlingly surrounded by the whole harassment allegation on the basis of this song of the 2008 film, “Horn Ok Please”. Nana Patekar is not perfect when it comes to dancing and that is something we all are aware of as per our observation as per some videos. He looks completely out of place in this video.
Now according to Tanushree Dutta, Nana Patekar sexually harassed her during the song in 2008. He pulled her by the arm and acted patronizing towards her, wanting to teach her a few dance steps. Nana Patekar and teaching dance steps? A real question to acknowledge actually. Tanushree said that she started resisting herself from his actions. When he demanded an intimate dance step from her she locked herself for hours in a vanity.

As per all this situation, she decided that she will not continue with the movie anymore. The press was called and she was disclosed as an actress who would never co-operate. Tanushree says that the gates of the sets were closed before she could leave the sets with her old parents and some political goons were called in. They broke her car and the police rescued her by firing in the air. When Tanushree went to the police station to lodge a complaint, she found out that Nana Patekar had already lodged an FIR against her.

As Tanushree has spoken up again, a lot of celebrities have reacted to it. Ganesh Acharya who was the choreographer said that though he clearly doesn’t remember the incident, he is sure that no incident of sexual harassment took place. Tanushree says she got Ganesh Acharya the job as a choreographer for the film.

Priyanka Chopra called Tanushree Dutta a survivor in response to her allegations against Nana Patekar to which she reacted that I am not going to be reduced to a survivor. I have a name, I have a story and I have this truth that I am trying to get out.

Kangna says “I am not here to pass judgment. That’s neither my place nor my intention. I appreciate her courage to speak about alleged harassment that has been caused to her. It’s her and the accused’s fundamental right to speak about their experience of the same situation. Such dialogue is very healthy and it will bring about a lot of awareness.”

In fact, Nana Patekar’s lawyer stated that they will be sending a legal notice to Tanushree soon.

When Salman Khan was asked to comment on this controversy, he reacted angrily and said that he won’t pass any comments due to the lack of evidence.

The typical responses will range from, “I was not present,” “The law will take its own course,” “Truth will eventually come out,” “I am not informed properly, I need to find out more about the incident,” “I know Nana personally, he is a gem of a person,” “I believe in women’s rights just don’t ask me about this,” “Can we talk about my upcoming film instead?” and “No comments.”

This topic is quite open to discuss. Instead of taking one’s side we should better leave the decision upon the court. What is your opinion? Share with us in the comments below.
