The Martyrs Of This Land

Today we pay tribute to all the Martyred of Pakistan.

The spirit of Defence Day is in the air, 6th September is called Yadgar-e-Shohda Day also known as  Defense Day, people are paying their respects to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our nation. In honour of the Martyred, we wanted to pay tribute to everyone who has given life for this country.

  • Benazir Bhutto:

Benazir Bhutto was the first Female Prime Minister of Pakistan, she has also chaired the centre-left Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the early 1980’s till the time she was assassinated. She is also a role model for many Pakistani women across the nation for her strength and her determination and is still remembered as a prominent leader of the nation. May you rest in peace.

  • Chaudhry Aslam Khan:

Chaudhry Aslam Khan was a police officer who was known for his tough actions against the criminals, and though he made many enemies during his time, he never once backed away from danger. He was martyred in a bomb blast that was carried out by a terrorist group on the 9th of January 2014. May you be in peace and your soul in eternal tranquillity.

  • Aitzaz Hasan:

They say Children are brave and unheeding in their pursuit to prove, to the world and to themselves, they are unique and beautiful little angles that are too precious for this world and that is true, we lost one of our Angel on the 7th of January in 2014, he died while preventing a suicide bomber from entering his school and saved 2,000 of his peers, he is an Angel and a Nation’s Hero that was taken away too early from us. May your soul be at peace.

  • Mir Siraj Khan Raisani:

Mir Siraj was a politician from the province of Balochistan, he belonged to the Balochistan Awami Party. He also held the record for the longest Pakistani Flag. His aim was to unite the different tribes in Balochistan and to fight for the right of his province. Raisani was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Kanak area of Mastung district in Balochistan. The martyr was laid to rest near the graves of his father Nawab Ghaus Baksh Raisani and his son Mir Haqmal Raisani.

Nawab Siraj Raisani, who was among 131 people martyred in the Mastung suicide blast, was laid to rest in Mastung. The Mustang attack was one of the bloodiest in Pakistan’s history and the fourth attack in the last seven days targeting election candidates. May your soul find peace

  • Muhammad Zaman Mehsud:

Zaman Mehsud was a senior Journalist, he also served as the president and secretary general of the Tribal Union of Journalists’ South Waziristan chapter, he was also the coordinator of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.

He did most of his reporting along the border with Afghanistan, in South Waziristan, He was martyred while riding his motorcycle in KPK, the Taliban claimed the responsibility of his killing. May you find peace and happiness your eternal life.

  • Bashir Ahmed Bilour:

Bashir Ahmed Bilour was a member of the Provincial Assembly of KPK as well as a Senior Minister for Local Government and Rural Development of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. He was a lawyer and took part in many active political platforms. He was a man of strength and dedication, he died on the 22nd of December in 2012 while attending a meeting, he was attacked and critically injured, later he succumbed to his injuries.   • Professor Syed Hamid Hussain

Syed Hamid Hussain was a professor at the Bacha Khan University when it was under attack by a group of Taliban gunmen, the professor died while trying to save his students.

The nation lost one of the most valuable assets. May your sacrifice be forever remembered.

  • The Martyrs of Peshawar Attack:

The event that occurred on the 16th of December in 2014, is one of the most heartbreaking incidents that shook the whole world to its core. A total estimated of 150 deaths were counted, beautiful little angles were taken away from us too early, this inhumane act was done by a Taliban group. Many young souls lost their brothers and friends while many families lost a part of themselves. This day will never be forgotten. It is the strength of those children who after the attack came back and attended the school and even after receiving fatal injuries came back and faced this world head first for I Shall Rise And Shine. We pray for your brave souls to find peace.
