The upgraded guidelines for TikTok take into account the local culture of Pakistan and has accordingly stated what is now allowed accordingly. This means that the app is now localised and will work according to our local laws now.

The app has had its teams working on removal of any videos that are against the community guidelines, and according to its Transparency Report, Pakistan ranks at third for most deleted videos. If an account user violates these community guidelines repeatedly, the account will get suspended or banned depending on the severity of the violations.

To make it easier for their teams to remove inappropriate videos, TikTok has included an in-app reporting feature for users to report any video they feel is not appropriate.

What do you think about TikTok’s newly upgraded community guidelines and its Urdu version? Will it help control the type of content so that there is no immoral content out there or will it be another case of censorship? Let us know what you think in the comments.
