Tough Choice For the Current Governments in Pakistan

he Government of Pakistan has many decisions to take amid the current COVID-19. The toughest of all is economy vs human life.

The current pandemic has not only effected human health but also the nation’s economy. And this is not about any particular nation. Every country and its economy has been affected due to COVID-19. What everything depends upon is, how stable the country is. A superpower like the US has still the ability to stand on its feet, amid their oil war. But the third world countries, like Pakistan, India, and many more, their economy is crippling. Businesses are closed, people aren’t working and daily-wagers have no place to earn from. The same is the case with Pakistan.

The Pakistan Economy has been rippling to its worst, slowly and gradually. And that has affected those who were earning peacefully, prior to this. According to the Finance Minister of Pakistan, three million people are to lose their jobs due to COVID-19. One million out of this is from the industrial sector and the other two million are from the service sector. If summed up, around eighteen million people are losing their jobs, from all the sectors. And this would create a havoc, once all of this is over. Or it probably is already making a havoc as the government hasn’t much helped their citizens, after all. Pakistan’s fiscal deficit is also to rise from 7.5% to 9.4% of GDP per annum.

Pakistan

To be honest, it is not even the Pakistan government to be blamed. If the country would have progressed in the last two decades, we might have been in a better position today. May God help us all.
