Virgin Atlantic Has Officially Landed in Pakistan

British airline Virgin Atlantic has officially commenced its operations in Pakistan on Friday, December 11, 2020, as its first flight lands in Islamabad.

After months of waiting, Virgin Atlantic’s inaugural flight to Pakistan has finally landed in Islamabad. The British carrier first made the announcement of the commencement of its services to Pakistan back in August 2020.

Virgin Atlantic’s flight was received by Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Overseas Pakistanis Zulfikar Bukhari and British High Commissioner Christian Turner. “After British Airways, Virgin Atlantic is the second-largest airline in the UK to launch a series of flights to Pakistan,” said the prime minister’s aide.

He said this will further enhance relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, adding that this will boost trade and trade ties between the two countries.

Earlier the airlines announced that from December, Virgin Atlantic will be flying direct to Pakistan with flights from London, Heathrow to both Lahore and Islamabad, plus direct services from Manchester to Islamabad.

Earlier this month the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) gave a green light to the airlines’ cargo and passenger flight operations.
