Wasim and Shaniera Akram appear on “Time Out With Ahsan Khan”
The couple talk about their married life
Wasim and Shaniera Akram were the latest guests to have appeared on the talk show “Time Out With Ahsan Khan”.
The couple openly discussed about their marriage and how they were able to overcome their cultural differences.
Shaniera Akram later went on to discuss how prior to meeting Wasim, she did not know much about Pakistan.
However, upon living here, she has come to express the importance that Pakistan has in her life. She talked about how much she felt more at home in Pakistan than her native Australia.
When asked about her interracial marriage with Wasim, she said, “Actually I must say I found this diary of mine from when I was a little girl and I wrote ‘Please God send me a prince from a faraway land’ and can you imagine I basically did marry a prince of swing from a faraway land and I get to dress like a princess every day.”
Wasim Akram himself said that he did not find any problem adjusting to Shaniera’a culture. He also discussed his wife’s Urdu skills have quite improved.
We also got to know some other interesting details about Shaniera Akram as well. For example; how she is a massive fan of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and how she has her very own pantry filled with local masalas.
Shaniera also discussed how at times Wasim use to get her name wrong. She even went on discuss how she thought that every time someone called her “Bhabi”, she felt that they were calling her “Barbie”.
Apart from the discussions, the couple along with Ahsan Khan engaged in some fun and exciting games. These games were mostly based on trying to assess how well the couple know each other.
