Wasim Talks with Hafeez his Remarks about Sharjeel
Chief Executive PCB Wasim Khan met Mohammed Hafeez on Tuesday to discuss his statements about the possible return of Sharjeel Khan to the team.
Chief Executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Wasim Khan met Mohammed Hafeez on Tuesday to discuss his statements about the possible return of Sharjeel Khan to the team. The PCB chief was not impressed with Hafeez’s remarks and reprimanded him as such.
Wasim Khan reminded Hafeez of the Board’s policy in such matters that any current player is not allowed to make statements on media and/or online. However, the PCB decided to not take any actions against Hafeez and closed the case.
Hafeez’s Remarks Against Sharjeel that Riled Wasim Khan up
In the past, the senior all rounder has shown his distaste for “tainted” players and had even refused to play with Mohammed Amir in the past, who had once pleaded guilty for match fixing. Since then however, he had relaxed.
This topic rose up again when Hafeez saw a question regarding Sharjeel Khan’s possible return to the team, and his answer caused Wasim Khan and the PCB to be riled up.

Many people had agreed with Hafeez’s stance about the return of Sharjeel Khan:
You are right Hafeez bhai. Pakistan have to draw a line somewhere. We can’t keep welcoming corrupts.

Love you Prof, heartening to see that your stance on Aamir return and now on Sharjeel is still the same. Now plz advise Qalandars to dump the Butt from the dressing room. Not sure how you are tolerating that fixer.

There were also quite a few who did not agree with the idea of rejecting these “tainted” players:
But you played with a lot of players with tainted past. Still do. Where was the dignity part then?

Dignity and Pride should be the standards to represent the country, but the most important standard should be the performance of a player and commitment to be a better player as well as better person
