What Celebrities Taught Us In 2022
Pakistani celebrities showed us how to speak up, offer assistance, and the value of contributing, but they also taught us how to spread love.
Our stars have given us even more lessons this year than they did in 2022. We learned the value of giving, the value of keeping our mouths shut, and a variety of other lessons that we will carry into the new year.
Hadiqa Kiani
Many people intervened to aid the 33 million Pakistanis who were uprooted and harmed by the floods that struck Pakistan this year. Hadiqa Kiani was one of several people who coordinated finances and set up everything from food and medicine to cozy apparel.
Kiani helped families affected by the disaster by setting up financial aid through her nonprofit Vaseela, but as she pledged to restore villages, she also showed us that there is nothing greater than lending a helping hand to those in need and being kind to people when they need it the most.
She showed us that anyone can assist a hamlet in need; you don’t have to be a well-known authority. You can be a regular person who makes the best possible use of their platform.
Iqra Aziz
Iqra Aziz withdrew from a film with actor Feroze Khan, who is currently battling for custody of their children after his ex-wife accused him of cruelty and infidelity. As celebrities supported Syeda Aliza, Aziz went one step further by declining to work on an initiative with Khan to support victims of domestic violence.
Her choice showed us that it’s acceptable to sever friendships if necessary to stand up for what you believe in. She demonstrated to us that speaking up and taking action are both vital, regardless of who you work with.
Shehroz and Syra
One thing Syra Yousuf and Shahroz Sabzwari showed us this year was to treat kids like kids and teach them how to love rather than hate, despite how the dynamics of families change after parents separate.
This year, the co-parents participated in numerous (different) interviews, but one particular set of interviews caught our attention. They were questioned over Nooreh’s behaviour toward Syeda Zahra, their infant daughter. Nooreh has always wanted a sister of her own, and now that she has one, the two of them have a special kinship, the interviewees said in their separate interviews.
This demonstrated to us the importance of preserving children’s innocence rather than instilling hatred and wrath in them.
Resham
This year, Resham accidentally sparked a discussion on whether waste belongs in the bin or in rivers. Her decision to throw food and plastic boxes into a river drew swift and harsh criticism.
People frequently struggle in the entertainment industry to take responsibility for their errors and express regret. In this instance, Resham apologized repeatedly, expressing her sincere regret for how she had disposed of the trash.
She encouraged us to admit our errors and apologize this year.
Meesha Shafi
The Lux Style Awards this year caused outrage for a number of reasons, but one of them was the dearth of female nominees for music awards. Meesha Shafi brought attention to the rejection by posting on Instagram and tagging all other prominent female singers to speak out against the injustice.
Following the uproar, the award’s organizers released a statement and extended the deadline for submissions in order to encourage more female musicians to do so. We learned from this to not accept injustice when we see it. Defend your rights as well as those of your friends and fellow creatives. She also showed us that we shouldn’t be scared to use our platform to further a cause.
Hasnain Lehri
This year, we were stunned by a variety of partnerships, but one, in particular, left us in awe. We certainly didn’t anticipate the arrival of Dubai Bling actor Loujain Adada and model Hasnain Lehri, but it undoubtedly taught us a valuable lesson: never give up on your crush.
We can learn from Lehri and Adada’s relationship to dream big even though our crush appears unreachable.
