Priyanka Chopra Praises Pakistani Film Joyland
The entire team deserves praise for pulling this tale to life. Priyanka Chopra urged everyone to watch it in an Instagram story.
Priyanka Chopra, a star of Bollywood and the television show Quantico, praised Saim Sadiq’s film, Pakistan’s official entry for the Oscars, on her Instagram stories. Joyland has gained yet another worldwide fan.
Priyanka Chopra posted on Instagram on Tuesday, “Joyland is truly a joy to watch.” Bravo to the entire team for bringing this story to life. “It’s a must-watch.”
The official Instagram account for the movie was tagged in Chopra’s Instagram story, which Sadiq shared. The Bollywood celebrity was acknowledged in both entries.
Chopra uploaded images of herself standing next to RRR director SS Rajamouli and ‘Naatu Naatu’ composer-songwriter MM Keeravani in two additional Instagram stories. She wished the team well and added that the least she could do was support the voyage of this “great Indian film.”
The popular Telegu movie recently won Best Original Song at the Golden Globes, but Argentina, 1985, won Best Non-English Language Picture. It beat out Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and director-singer Guillermo del Toro to become the first Indian movie to ever win a Globe.
Chopra previously supported Sadiq when the Joyland team won the Jury Prize at Cannes the previous year. She had turned to Instagram and shared several stories in honour of the Cannes award winners. Priyanka Chopra began by wishing everyone well and giving a particular shout-out to “all the strong talent from Asia” for receiving the “recognition” they deserved.
Chopra started off with Joyland by citing the prizes that the movie won and presenting pictures of the Asian teams among some of the honorees. In another story told by Priyanka Chopra, Sadiq praised her for her acknowledgement, and she praised him.
This year’s Oscar nominees include Pan Nalin’s “Chhello Show,” Rajamouli’s “RRR,” and “Joyland” by Sadiq. Rajamouli’s film won Best Original Song, while Sadiq and Nalin’s film won Best International Film. The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, will host the 95th Academy Awards on March 12.
