15 Fall Movies Which Will Get You In the Autumnal Spirit

We are deep into the fall season and if you are still not feeling the fall spirit, here are some movies which will definitely get you in autumnal spirit.

The season of pumpkin lattes, hot coffee, sweaters/shawls, sales, bonfires, chilly movie nights, a new school year, and roasted marshmallows is here. We are officially deep into fall and now it is finally starting to feel like it in Pakistan.

Before we all dive into winter, let’s celebrate the fall season to the fullest and get into the true spirit of the season. My list has it all from football games and school-age drama to love stories, thrillers, and comedies.

So grab your popcorn or hot coffee and other movie essentials and let’s have a fall marathon because why not.

1. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before (2018 – 2021)

This film is a classic and the best-rated rom-com, perfect for the back-to-school/fall season. Lara Jean is usually not seen in high school which she is fine with but then she starts gaining the attention of some boy who received love letters from her (which she wrote secretly and kept a secret since middle school). She starts a fake relationship with Peter, who also got a letter from her but it starts turning into something real.

2. Little Women (2019)

The 2019 version will really make you feel like you’re in the middle of the fall season with its color choices, textures, and narrative pacing. It is from the classic novel, which is about four friends who experience death, love, and follow their dreams during the Civil War area.

3. The Twilight Saga (2008 – 2012)

This will definitely get you in the fall mood with its supernatural vampire vibes when a teen girl falls in love with a 104-year-old vampire who looks seventeen. And the September, October, November soundtrack is very autumnal.

4. Hocus Pocus (1993)

Hocus Pocus is indeed one of the fall essentials. It is about three witches who come back from dead after 300 years and find it hard to be on Earth.

5. Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)

The fox, who is orange the fall-est color, retires from the farm, and he does his last mission on Wes Anderson’s three of the most unpleasant farms.

A tale of an alien who gets left behind on Earth and is found by a little boy who introduces him to the Earth and things and people on it.

7. Bird Box (2018)

With the academy award-winning actress, Sandra Bullock gets you in the fall thrilling mood. It will keep you on your toes while an unknown team threatened to wipe out all those who gaze at “it”.

8. Hubbie Halloween (2020)

If there is Adam Sandler, there will be laughter even if it’s the spooky season. The story is about a guy Hubie who saves his neighbor from a kidnapper becoming the hero of the town after being the joke of the town for so many years.

9. The Dig (2021)

The movie was set up in 1939 and is about a man named Basil Brown who was employed to dig up a burial ground and in process, he finds gold in a ship aging back to Dark Ages.

10. Rebecca (2020)

This movie is a live motion picture of the 1983 novel Rebecca. The new wife moves into her husband’s house where he starts feeling the presence of her husband’s late ex-wife and she sets out to find why.

11. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001)

Harry Potter itself has very autumnal vibes because of the plaid and flannel and the magical world vibes but the first one will definitely bring you in fall vibe where Harry finds out that he is a wizard and he gets to go to Hogwarts School for the first time.

12. October Sky (1999)

The name itself suggests that it is the most fall-season movie. This movie follows a teenager who lives in a small town and wants to reach the stars after he gets to watch a Sputnik satellite.

13. Ghostbusters (1984)

Ghost Busters is another classic fall sci-fi comedy movie set in 1984, with Ghostbusters trying to save New York city from ghost invasion.

15. Mean Girls (2004 and 2011)

Mean Girls is a classic all-time favorite movie so any chance you have to watch it, take it. It’s a high school teen drama movie with a girl trying to fit in with the popular girls.
