5 mini eateries to try out in Karachi

A list of some fairly new eateries on the rise in Karachi.

Karachi in these recent years has seen a rise in the number of restaurants, cafes and small eateries. There’s practically one in every corner. And of course there’s no guarantee that they all may be popular or successful, since everybody has their preferences when it comes to food. But it seems to be that each is doing fairly well.

We wanted to bring your attention to some eateries that are gradually growing and making their way into this market. They’re definitely worth a try so read here:

 

  1. Taco Cat 

If you’ve ever wanted to try some wholesome Mexican food or you just simply love tacos, then this is the place for you. Located on Khayaban-e-Nishat, Taco Cat has several flavors of Tacos – from chicken to beef to even prawn. And if you’re vegetarian then YES they have a vegetarian Taco on their menu too!

They also serve Quesadillas, Burrito bowls, Tortilla chips with in-house salsa and guac, and some delicious Tres Leches cake. The restaurant itself has such a chill vibe, with their Mexican music and interior that you’ll love it.

 

 

  1. Amichi

Bringing to you some good ole pasta and pizza. This little Italian joint, also located on Khayaban-e-Nishat, serves delicious hand tossed crust pizzas, and different kinds of pastas.

And get this, other than selecting from the menu, they let you make your own pasta and pizza! You get to pick the ingredients and have it made exactly to your preference down to the last detail.

Prefect place for picky eaters like myself I tell you.

Located in Karachi’s famous Khadda Market, Yoshi’s describe themselves as an ‘Asian comfort food bar’. Japanese food with a modern twist, they have a fairly elaborate menu and is different from your typical Asian cuisine.

The restaurant keeps in line with their Japanese interior and flavors. If you’re a fan of Japanese food or just on the look-out for something out of the ordinary, this is the place.

This brainchild of Khaadi is a dine-in experience that caters to all your desi food needs. From wholesome, filling meals to everyone’s favorite desi snacks. Butter chicken, garlic naan, bun kabab, chaat, chai, you name it – its all there! Pretty amazing right?

Kudos to Khaadi on this brilliant idea though. Its even located right next to its new flagship store at COM 3 (opposite BBQ Tonight).

 

 

  1. Slamvich

Slamvich seems to be the new sandwich joint for Karachiites.

Located in Defence and SMCHS, you may want to try this place out. It is honestly where all your grilled sandwich dreams would come true, that too with a variety of flavors to choose from. So it is the perfect place to go to for comfort food and a filling meal.
