Yoshi’s – Exclusive Food Review

My experience at Yoshi's

Yoshi’s is the talk of town these days so i went ahead to try it. I am not fond of new flavors or Japanese food but my experience at Yoshi’s was a whole new level of satisfaction.

Starting with ambiance, the place has the cutest door looking like it just came out of an anime. The interior gave me authentic Japanese vibes with a star wars inspired wall graffiti complimenting the red color theme really well. The restaurant is located in Khadda Market and you should definitely visit if you love Japanese food!

The soft lighting with natural sunlight beaming through the window made feel comfortable and pleased.

After we were seated the waiter brought us menu cards designed to remind me of Japanese culture. Not to forget it had a huge variety of things to pick from and diverse categories from burgers to pancakes to hot dogs, rice, ramen and much more.

The servers were extremely polite explaining each dish to us while ordering. Hats off i have never seen waiters behave so well. While we waited for our order they sat huge stuffed toys beside us and gave us games to play.

The service was quick and the food looked very appealing. We Ordered the following dishes :

Korean Fried Chicken And Aligot :

The Korean fried chicken was crispy and scrumptious. it was sweet with a hint of spice as well balancing the taste. I wrapped it into the Aligot which is cheese blended into mash potatoes. The taste it produced was heavenly. The Aligot even itself was a delight.

Katsudon:

Next up we have a rice bowl called ‘Katsudon’. The chicken was fried with a coating making it more exciting. The rice were not bland as they were cooked with garlic and spices. The dish altogether was very well put and tasted wondrous. It’s a rice bowl that I’d definitely want to try again, something very unique.

Okonomiyaki:

This dish personally took my breath away as i have never tasted something like this. Okonomiyaki is a savory pancake with fillings and toppings. I was hesitating at first but ordered the original one. My first bite was so surprising as i almost never like new things but this was incredible. The spices were balanced, the pancake was cooked just the right amount and the toppings were fulfilling.

Umami :

We tired Umami, a japanese style hot dog. I loved the meat sausage even after being a chicken lover. The Umami had a taste of its own that made it stand out. It was a sufficient amount that prevented the hot dog from tasting dry.

Chicken Sesame Udon :

Last we have the Chicken Sesame Udon from the noodles section. At this point i was so busy in eating that i didn’t even take a proper picture. This had a very smoky taste combined with pepper. It was tasty and I was very pleased.

Miso Ramen:

This bowl was screaming goodness with every bite. The Miso ramen had a broth which tasted amazing, it was salty with a hint of tanginess which was enough to make your taste buds tingle at the end. It was flavourful and I was delighted to taste such an authentic Japanese flavour. I was definitely not disappointed with this one!

Drinks:

The drinks we ordered were Yuzunade (purple), Pomogranate soda and Pineapple coconut and curd shake. The Yuzunade had a minty lemon flavor. The soda of course tasted like Pomogranate and my absoluted favorite was the coconut & curd shake. It was not too sweet and tasted remarkable.

In conclusion, I enjoyed Yoshi’s more than i thought i would. I have already been there twice and will keep visiting probably a lot. My tummy was really happy and Yoshi’s meaning good luck serves justice to its name. Therefore, good luck trying to dislike the food.
